Understanding the New Subscription Model on SquadTrip

We’ve updated our subscription model to give organizers more flexibility and clarity, while making powerful tools more accessible.

Updated this week

Why We Made These Changes
We want to:

  • Simplify how you build trips by moving key settings to the trip level instead of the package level.

  • Provide greater transparency into what features are available and how they work.

  • Encourage continued access to premium features through active subscriptions.

Features Now Included with Subscription
When subscribed, you can:

  • Customize Payment Options & Settings

  • Set Design & Branding elements for your trip pages

  • Add Company Branding including Social Media links

  • Customize Checkout, Trip Page, and My Bookings page colors (embedding available only if subscribed)

  • Send MMS Text Messages to guests

  • Schedule Emails

  • Manage User Settings (create and manage sub-user accounts)

Previously Gated Features That Are Now Free
You can now access these even without a subscription:

  • Affiliates

  • Refer & Receive

  • Checkout Embed

  • Registration Question flag (“Is this question specific to this trip?”)

How It Works

  • If you’re subscribed, you have full access to the features above.

  • If you’re unsubscribed, you can still see these screens but cannot use the features until you subscribe.

  • If your payment fails and isn’t fixed within 2 weeks, your subscription is canceled and the features become inactive.

What Happens If Your Subscription Is Cancelled

  • Payment & Settings revert to default (defaults are locked)

    • Apple Pay, Klarna, Afterpay become available

    • Auto-charge turns on by default (for new guests only)

    • Retry applies to all auto-charge guests

    • Reschedule turns off for all

  • Design & Branding fields revert to default and cannot be edited

  • Company Branding resets to default and cannot be edited

  • Send MMS and Scheduled Messages revert to draft and become uneditable

  • Sub-users lose access, and see an “Access denied” message

What If You Re-Subscribe?
You’ll need to manually reinstate all your settings:

  • Design & Branding colors

  • Company Branding links

  • Payment settings

  • Reschedule and auto-charge preferences

  • Scheduled messages need to be reactivated from draft

Other Notes

  • You’ll get an email when your subscription is canceled.

  • If a payment fails, we’ll send a warning email outlining what features will be lost if not resolved.
