SquadTrip makes a free promo video for every trip: a short vertical video made from your trip page and photos, in your colors. It's made for Instagram Reels and Stories, TikTok, your website and Facebook, and it ends with your booking link.
Publishing your trip makes the video for you. You can also make a draft before you publish, change its look, share it from your phone and download it in more sizes.
Before you start
Your trip needs a name, a destination or dates, and a package price. Until it has them, the video card says what to add, such as "Add a package price to make your promo video.", and each item links to the step where you add it.
Photos are optional. The video uses your trip's photos when it has them. Without photos, it uses your trip's details on your colors.
You need edit access. Every trip on every plan gets a video, but a teammate without edit access sees a message instead of the video.
Draft video or published video
Before your trip is published, a video is a draft and ends with "Booking opens soon". Once your trip is live, the video ends with your booking link.
The preview on the card is your real video, and it updates as you edit the trip. A video file is only made when you publish or click one of the make buttons.
Where to find your video
Preview and Publish: the Your promo video card, next to the trip page preview.
Share my trip: at the top of the page. Open it with Share on the trip dashboard.
The pop-up after you publish: Your trip has been published! shows your video with Share my trip and Download promo video.
Video ready: a button at the top of the trip dashboard once a video is ready. It opens your video on Share my trip.
Your email: if a video finishes while you're away from the page, we email you. Click Download promo video in the email.
Make a draft video before you publish
Open Preview and Publish: on a draft trip's dashboard, click Publish at the top, or choose Preview and Publish in the Trip Builder menu. The Your promo video card plays a preview of your video. Click Make a draft video.
The card shows each step while your video is made. It usually takes 3 to 5 minutes. You can close the page: if you're not there when it finishes, we email you.
Publish to get your video
The first time you publish your trip, SquadTrip starts making your video. The Your trip has been published! pop-up shows Making your Reel while it works. Click Download promo video to go to your video on Share my trip, or click Close.
When the video is ready, Video ready appears at the top of the trip dashboard. Click it to open your video.
Made a draft video first? Publishing doesn't replace it. The card shows "Trip updated since this video was made.": click Update video to make it again with your booking link. If a published trip has no video yet, click Make my video on the card.
Make it yours
Click Customize on the card. The Make it yours window opens with your trip's settings already filled in, and the preview changes as you tap:
Style: Bold type, Minimal or Photo-led.
Fonts: Modern, Classic, Playful or Condensed.
Colors: Auto, Palettes or Custom. From your logo appears when we can read the colors in your company logo.
Photos: up to 8, one per scene, in order. The first one opens the video. To add your own, tick I have the rights to use the photos I upload, then click Upload a photo.
Details shown: tick or untick Spots left, Payment plan and Dates.
Nothing is made until you click the button at the bottom right, such as Make a new video. Close keeps your choices in the preview, and Reset to defaults takes you back to where you started.
When you make a video, your style, font and colors are saved, so your next trip's video starts from the same look. Your photos and Details shown aren't carried over to other trips.
Share your video
When your video is ready, the card shows Your video is ready. Click Share to Instagram Story to open your device's share options and pick Instagram. If your browser can't share files, the video downloads and the card tells you how to post it from your phone. Click Download MP4 to save the file, or Copy caption to copy a ready-made caption with hashtags. Pick Short, Medium or Long next to Caption length: first.
The video has no sound, on purpose. Add a trending sound in Instagram or TikTok before you post.
Get more sizes
Under Also in your kit, the same look comes in more sizes: Feed video 4:5, Square video 1:1, Wide video 16:9, a Square image, a Story image and a Flyer (PDF) with a QR code to your trip. Click Make on one, or Make all to make every one you haven't made yet. Download all (zip) downloads every ready file, with your captions.
Each file shows Making... while it's made, then Ready. Click Save on a ready file to download it, or Share on a ready video or image.
Update your video when the trip changes
Your video shows the prices, dates and spots left from when it was made. When you change something it shows, the card says "Trip updated since this video was made." Click Update video to make your video again, along with every kit file you've made. Click Keep this one to hide the message in this browser.
Good to know
You can make each file 6 times a day. After that, the card says "You have made this file 6 times for this trip today." Try again tomorrow, or use the one you already have.
If nothing changed, nothing new is made. When your trip and your choices are the same as last time, the card says the video already matches and keeps the one you have.
If a video can't be made, the card says "We couldn't make your video." Click Try again, or come back in a few minutes. The preview still works.
Your Video ready button is on the desktop trip dashboard. On a phone, open your video from Share Trip in Trip Actions.
