Overview
Promo codes let you offer discounts to travelers at checkout or apply credits to existing bookings. SquadTrip supports both percentage-based and fixed-amount discounts, with options to limit quantity, set active dates, and restrict codes to specific trips or packages. Only one promo code can be applied per order.
Getting to Promo Codes
Log in to your organizer dashboard
Open the trip you want to configure
Click "Create Promo Code" on the trip dashboard
Create a Promo Code
Click "Create Promo Code" on your trip dashboard
Choose which trip(s) the code applies to
Enter a unique name for the promo code
Set it as active or inactive
Define the quantity available
Select discount type: percentage or fixed amount
Specify whether it applies per traveler or to the total trip
Set the Start Date and End Date
Click "Save"
Discount Types
Type | How It Works | When It Applies |

With installment plans: Both discount types work with installments. The discount reduces the total, and installment amounts are automatically recalculated proportionally.
Apply a Promo Code to an Existing Booking
To apply a code to an already-registered traveler:
Go to Trip Data
Select the guest
Click "Edit Order"
Enter the promo code in the designated field
Save changes
Important Notes
Only one promo code per order -- codes cannot be stacked
Promo codes cannot create negative balances
Applied codes cannot be removed without contacting support
A 100% promo code marks the booking as "Paid" rather than "No Deposit"
Processing fees recalculate based on the discounted amount for percentage codes
Fixed amount codes show a "Save" button that enables once you enter a valid amount
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
Promo code not working for travelers | Check the Start Date and End Date. The code only works during its active period. Also verify quantity hasn't been exhausted. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can a traveler use more than one promo code on a single booking? A: No. Only one promo code can be applied per order. If a traveler has multiple codes, they should use the one with the highest discount value. Codes cannot be stacked or combined.
Q: What happens when a promo code is used with installment plans? A: The discount reduces the total trip cost, and all remaining installment amounts are automatically recalculated proportionally. For example, a 20% discount on a $1,000 trip reduces each installment by 20%.
Q: Can I apply a promo code to someone who already booked? A: Yes, but only for fixed-amount codes. Go to Trip Data, select the traveler, click "Edit Order," and enter the code. Percentage-based codes can only be applied at initial checkout.
Q: What happens with a 100% promo code? A: A 100% discount marks the booking as "Paid" (not "No Deposit"). The traveler completes the booking without any payment, and their account shows a zero balance with a paid status.
