Room Types help you set up how guests will stay and share rooms during a trip. They work together with Packages to define pricing and quantity, while the Room Type focuses on the configuration of the stay—like how many people the room holds, what kind of beds it has, or whether it has a balcony.
Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
Packages determine the price and quantity.
Room Type defines the room setup—ocean view, balcony, etc.
Room Category is a broader label like "Standard" or "5-Star Room."
You can also decide how bookings work for rooms with multiple occupants:
If you enable "Occupants can book/pay separately", each guest can book and pay for their spot individually, even in a room designed for 2 or more people.
If this is not selected, then the full occupancy must be paid for at once. For example, a 3-person room must be purchased for all 3 people together.
Room Inventory Limits:
Inventory is based on the number of rooms, not the number of occupants. So, if a room has an occupancy of 4 and your room inventory is set to 4, that means 4 rooms total—not 16 occupants total.
This setup gives you full flexibility in offering private or shared rooms, while keeping track of how many actual rooms are available for booking.
