If your Stripe account is showing as “Restricted” or “Restricted soon,” or "Account requires an update. One or more features were paused" or any notification related to verification of your account it means Stripe needs you to update your business or verification information. Don’t worry — this is common and can be resolved quickly by following the steps below.
Why Stripe Might Restrict or Pause Your Account
Stripe may temporarily pause payouts or restrict your account if:
Some of your business or personal information is missing or outdated.
Stripe needs to reverify your identity or business details.
You haven’t uploaded the required documents for compliance.
Keeping your Stripe account information up to date ensures smooth payments and uninterrupted service.
How to Update Your Information on Stripe
You can update your details or upload missing documents anytime.
Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
Go to Settings.
Under Business settings, open sections like Account details or Public business information.
Update your information — for example, your name, address, website URL, or uploaded documents.
Click Save to confirm your changes.
It’s best to review your account regularly to make sure all fields are complete so your Stripe account stays verified and active.
If You See a Verification or Restriction Notice
If Stripe flags a verification issue or your account is restricted:
Log in to your Stripe Dashboard and check for any messages under the “Action required” section.
You may also see a banner or notification at the top of the page.
Follow the on-screen steps to upload or update the requested information or documents.
You can also go to Business settings, where incomplete fields will be highlighted in red as "Incomplete"
We will also send email notifications if your account is in “Restricted” or “Restricted soon” status.
If you’re unsure what needs to be done or can’t find the alert, contact Stripe Support and request to speak with a human agent. They can review your account and guide you through the verification process.
If Your Stripe Account Is About to Be Paused
Stripe sometimes pauses payouts if your account needs additional information or document verification. To fix this:
Log in to your account and go to: 👉https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/status
Review what information is missing.
Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the verification.
Failure to provide the required details may result in your account being temporarily paused or, in some cases, shut down.
