Overview
Group Chat polls let organizers gather opinions and make group decisions directly inside the trip chat. Travelers vote in real time, and results update instantly. Polls support single choice, multiple choice, and ranked choice voting.
Getting to Polls
Open the Group Chat for your trip
Click the poll icon (bar chart) in the message input area
The poll creation form appears
By default, both organizers and travelers can create polls. Organizers can restrict poll creation to organizers only in trip settings. Only organizers can close and delete other users' polls.
Create a Poll
Click the poll icon in the message input area
Enter your poll question (e.g., "Which restaurant should we go to on Day 2?")
Add your answer options -- you can add multiple choices
Choose a voting type: Single Choice, Multiple Choice, or Ranked Choice
Click "Create Poll" to post it in the chat
The poll appears as a special message that everyone in the chat can interact with.
Vote on a Poll
When a poll appears in the chat, click your choice(s):

Results update in real time as people vote. You can see vote counts for each option immediately.
Close a Poll (Organizers Only)
When voting is done:
Find the poll in the chat
Click "Close Poll"
The poll locks -- no more votes can be cast
Final results remain visible to everyone
Only organizers can close polls or delete other users' polls.

Ranked choice uses a scoring system where higher-ranked options get more points
Polls remain visible in the chat history even after being closed
Set a deadline in your poll question (e.g., "Vote by Friday!") so people know when to respond
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
Can't find the poll icon | The poll icon (bar chart) is in the message input area. If you don't see it, the organizer may have restricted poll creation to organizers only, or try refreshing the page. |
Poll not appearing after creation | Refresh the chat. If the poll still doesn't show, check your internet connection and try again. |
Can't vote on a poll | The poll may have been closed by the organizer. Closed polls show final results but don't accept new votes. |
Want to change my vote | You can change your vote by selecting a different option on the poll. Your previous vote will be replaced with your new selection. |
Frequently Asked Questions
