How to Cancel Your Trip Reservation on SquadTrip

Learn how to cancel your trip and contact your organizer directly from your traveler dashboard.

Overview

If your plans change, you can cancel your trip reservation directly from your traveler dashboard. Cancellation is permanent and cannot be undone. Refunds are handled separately and depend on the organizer's refund policy.

Getting to Cancellation

  1. Log in at dashboard.squadtrip.com

  2. Find the trip you want to cancel

  3. Click "Details" to open your trip information

  4. The "Cancel My Booking" button is on your trip details page

Cancel Your Reservation

  1. Click "Cancel My Booking" on your trip details page

  2. Type "cancel" in the confirmation box

  3. Click "Yes, Cancel Reservation" to confirm

After Cancellation

Once confirmed:

Request a Refund

Refunds are not automatic. To request one:

  1. On the Payment page, click "Contact the Organizer"

  2. A pop-up appears with the organizer's email address

  3. Enter your subject and message explaining your refund request

  4. Send the email

Review the trip's refund policy (available in the FAQ & Legal section on the trip page) before canceling.

Important Notes

  • Cancellation is permanent -- it cannot be undone once confirmed

  • Refunds are at the organizer's discretion based on their posted refund policy

  • Your cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund -- you must request one separately

  • After canceling, you can no longer access trip features like Group Chat or the itinerary

Can't find "Cancel My Booking" button

Log in at dashboard.squadtrip.com, click on the trip, then "Details." The cancel button is on the trip details page.

Accidentally canceled

Cancellation is permanent. Contact the organizer immediately -- they may be able to manually re-add you to the trip.

Haven't received refund after canceling

Refunds are not automatic. Use the "Contact the Organizer" button to request one. Processing times depend on the organizer's policy.

Cancellation confirmation email not received

Check your spam/junk folder. If still missing, log in to your dashboard to verify the cancellation went through.

Q: Will I get a refund automatically when I cancel? A: No. Canceling your reservation does not trigger an automatic refund. You must contact the organizer separately to request a refund. Refund eligibility depends on the organizer's refund policy, which is posted on the trip page.

Q: Can I re-book after canceling? A: Cancellation is permanent within your current booking. However, if the trip still has availability, you can book again as a new traveler through the trip page. Your previous payment history will not carry over.

Q: What happens to my installment payments if I cancel mid-plan? A: All remaining installments are marked as "Cancelled" and your balance drops to $0. Payments you've already made are not automatically refunded -- contact the organizer to discuss refund options per their policy.
