Organizers on Squadtrip.com can now enable the 'Abandoned Cart Emails' feature to reconnect with travelers who left bookings incomplete. In this article, we will demonstrate how to activate this feature and explain how it works.
What are Abandoned cart e-mails?
An abandoned cart email is an automated message sent to travelers who registered for a group trip but did not complete their booking by making a deposit. This type of email aims to re-engage potential travelers by reminding them to finalize their booking
How do I set up Abandoned cart e-mails?
The Abandoned Cart email setting is located in the Trip Builder under Automatic Email Settings.
When we select Abandoned cart emails we can tailor the email and give it personal touch. Organizer can specify:
Subject Name
Edit the message - First part of the email
By default the option to send Abandoned cart emails is set to ON
At any moment Organizer can turn this option OFF by using toggle button at the bottom of the page.
When email is prepared, Organizer can check the changes by using "Generate preview" button.
How do Abandoned Cart e-mails work?
Abandoned cart e-mails are automatically sent to travelers who register for a group trip but do not complete their booking by making a deposit. This feature is enabled by default.
Here is the step-by-step process:
Trip Creation: The group travel organizer creates a trip on the Squadtrip platform.
Registration without Deposit: A traveler registers for the trip but does not make a deposit.
First Email: The system sends the first abandoned cart email 2 hours after the traveler registers without making a deposit.
Second Email: If the deposit is still not made, a second email is sent 2 days later.
Third Email: If the deposit remains unpaid, a third email is sent another 2 days later.
This sequence aims to remind and encourage travelers to complete their bookings, thereby helping organizers secure more bookings and increase their revenue.
⚠️ Company-wide setting: If you change the Abandoned cart email settings, the changes will apply to all trips in this company, not just the current trip you're editing.
📧 Automatic trigger: This email sends automatically to travelers who begin registration but don't complete their booking within the timeframe you specify.
