Overview
At the moment, SquadTrip does not support a direct “Move Traveler Between Trips” feature.
However, you can easily manage this by canceling the traveler’s existing reservation and issuing a promo code for the new trip. This ensures a smooth transition without affecting payment records or availability.
Workaround: How to Move a Traveler Between Trips
Follow these steps to transfer a traveler from one trip to another:
1. Cancel the Current Reservation
Go to Trip Data → Cancel a Trip Reservation.
Locate the traveler’s name.
Click the Cancel button beside their record.
Select Cancel without refund.
2. Create a Promo Code for the New Trip
Navigate to Promo Codes in your organizer dashboard.
Choose one of the following options:
Save the promo code.
3. Share the Promo Code with the Traveler
Send the code to the traveler via email or message.
Ask them to book the new trip using the promo code at checkout.
Once they complete the new booking, the traveler will appear under the new trip’s participant list.
Quick Reference Table
Step | Action | Notes |
1 | Cancel old reservation | Use “Cancel without refund” |
2 | Create promo code | Match previous payment amount or use 100% discount |
3 | Traveler rebooks new trip | Share promo code and link to new trip page |
Tips & Best Practices
Use clear promo code names (e.g., TRANSFER-JOHNDOE-TRIP2) for easy tracking.
Always confirm with the traveler before canceling their existing reservation.
Keep internal notes to ensure the transaction trail is transparent for reporting or audits.
Avoid issuing multiple promo codes for the same transfer.
Summary
While SquadTrip doesn’t yet allow direct transfers between trips, this cancel + promo code method ensures travelers can move seamlessly without duplicate payments or confusion.
