If your trip offers shared-occupancy rooms, such as double, triple, or quad, travelers can choose to pay only for themselves rather than paying for the entire room. Sometimes travelers accidentally select the full room count, which makes the system show a higher total price and deposit. The steps below explain how to update this so each traveler pays their share.
Why does the deposit look higher?
When a traveler selects a shared room, the system may assume they are paying for all occupants. This temporarily increases the total amount and deposit. To correct this, the traveler simply needs to adjust the number of people they are paying for.
How to Pay Separately (Pay Only for Yourself)
1. Choose the shared-occupancy room
Select the room type you want, such as double or triple occupancy. You may initially see an option like “Pay for 2 Travelers” or “Pay for 3 Travelers,” depending on the room setup.
2. Click the pencil icon to edit
Next to the payment count, click the pencil icon. A pop-up will open asking, “How many are you paying for?”
3. Reduce the count to one traveler
Click the minus (–) button until the number shows 1 Traveler. The pricing will automatically update to the correct per-person amount.
4. Continue to payment
Once updated, the deposit and installment plan will show the accurate amount for a single traveler.
Example:
• Paying for 3 travelers → higher total and deposit
• Paying for 1 traveler → correct per-person deposit
Note:
New travelers or their partners will need to follow the same booking process individually. At this time, SquadTrip does not send a separate payment link for the second traveler. This feature is currently being developed.
To help identify travelers sharing a room, you can add a required registration question asking for the name of their partner or roommate. This makes it easy to match and track room assignments.
