Overview
Some trips on SquadTrip offer Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options, letting you split your trip payment into smaller installments through Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay. Instead of paying the full amount at once, the BNPL provider handles the financing so you can pay over time.
How It Works
Start checkout for your trip as normal
Select "Pay in Full" as your payment option
In the payment method section, choose Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay instead of a credit card
Review the 4% convenience fee that will be added to your total
Click to proceed — you'll be redirected to the BNPL provider's page
Complete the application with the provider (quick approval process)
If approved, your booking is confirmed immediately
Repay the provider according to their installment schedule

4 equal payments over 6 weeks
First payment due at time of purchase
Remaining 3 payments every 2 weeks
No interest if payments are on time
Available for trips priced in USD, CAD, GBP, AUD, or NZD
The 4% Convenience Fee
When you choose a BNPL option, a 4% convenience fee is added to your trip total. This fee is clearly shown before you confirm your payment so you know exactly what you'll pay.
Example: If your trip costs $1,000, the BNPL total would be $1,040 ($1,000 + $40 fee).
When BNPL Is Available
BNPL options will appear at checkout when:
The trip organizer has enabled BNPL for the trip
You select "Pay in Full" (not an installment plan)
The trip currency is supported by the provider (Klarna supports the most currencies; Affirm is USD/CAD only)
Note: If you don't see BNPL options at checkout, the organizer may not have enabled them, the trip currency may not be supported by that provider, or the provider may not be available in your region.

Tip: If the trip offers an installment plan, compare it with the BNPL options. The organizer's installment plan has no convenience fee, which may save you money.
After Payment
Once your BNPL payment is approved:
Your booking is confirmed immediately
The organizer receives the full payment from the BNPL provider
You manage your repayment schedule directly with the BNPL provider (Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay)
Your SquadTrip account will show the booking as paid
Troubleshooting
BNPL not showing at checkout? Make sure you've selected "Pay in Full" — BNPL doesn't work with installment plans
Application denied? Each provider has their own approval criteria. You can try a different BNPL provider or use a credit card instead
