Overview
SquadTrip lets you create a single trip listing with multiple destination options. Travelers choose their preferred destination at checkout, and each destination can have its own packages, pricing, dates, and itinerary. This is ideal for trips that offer location choices -- like a group retreat where travelers pick between Bali, Cancun, or Costa Rica.
Getting to Multi-Destination Setup
From your Dashboard, open the trip you want to configure (or create a new one). In the Trip Builder, navigate to the Trip Details section. Add your destinations using the "Add Destination" button. Each destination you add creates a separate destination group with its own configuration options.
How Destination Groups Work
Each destination operates as its own self-contained section of the trip. A destination group includes:
Component | What You Configure |
Destination Name | City, resort, or location label travelers see |
Packages | Room types and pricing specific to this destination |
Dates | Start and end dates (can differ per destination) |
Itinerary | Day-by-day schedule unique to this destination |
Capacity | Maximum travelers for this destination |
Travelers see all destinations on the trip page and select one during checkout.
Setting Up Packages Per Destination
Each destination has its own set of packages configured independently. Navigate to a destination's Packages tab to add room types, set pricing, and configure deposits. Pricing can be completely different across destinations -- a Bali standard room might be $875 while a Cancun suite is $2,450.
What Travelers See at Checkout
On the trip page, travelers see all available destinations with their pricing and details. At checkout, they:
Select a destination from the available options
Choose a package within that destination
Complete payment using the pricing for their chosen destination and package
The checkout flow adapts to show only the packages and pricing for the selected destination.
Managing Capacity Per Destination
Set capacity limits independently for each destination. When a destination reaches its limit, it shows as "Sold Out" on the trip page while other destinations remain available. To set capacity, open the destination's settings and configure the maximum traveler count.
Important Notes
Each destination has fully independent pricing -- changing one does not affect others
Travelers select their destination at checkout and cannot switch after booking without organizer assistance
Capacity limits are per-destination, not per-trip
The trip page displays all destinations with their starting prices so travelers can compare
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
Destinations not showing on the trip page | Verify each destination has at least one published package with pricing. Destinations without packages are hidden from travelers. |
Pricing confusion across destinations | Each destination has independent pricing. Review each destination's package settings separately to ensure amounts are correct. |
Traveler wants to switch destinations after booking | Use the Edit Order flow in Trip Data to change the traveler's destination and package. Payments already made are credited toward the new total. |
Capacity limits not working | Check that you set the maximum traveler count on the correct destination group. Each destination has its own capacity setting. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can travelers switch destinations after booking? A: Not on their own. As the organizer, you can change a traveler's destination through the Edit Order flow in Trip Data. Their existing payments credit toward the new destination's price, and the remaining balance recalculates automatically.
Q: Can I set different dates for each destination? A: Yes. Each destination group has its own start and end dates. This is useful for staggered group trips -- for example, Bali runs August 15-22 while Cancun runs September 5-12. Travelers see the dates for each destination on the trip page.
Q: Can I set different prices for each destination? A: Yes. Packages and pricing are configured independently per destination. You can offer a $875 standard room in one destination and a $2,450 suite in another. Deposits and installment plans are also set per-destination.
Q: Is there a limit on how many destinations I can add? A: There is no hard limit on the number of destinations per trip. However, for the best traveler experience, we recommend keeping it to 3-5 destinations so travelers can compare options easily on the trip page.
