In Squadtrip, a package is the core building block of a trip. It lets organizers create different pricing options, accommodation types, and experiences, such as single or double occupancy. Packages define prices, experiences and room availability making booking simpler for travelers and easier to manage for organizers.
Step 1: Go to Packages in Trip Builder
In your Trip Builder, select Packages from the left-hand menu. This is where you’ll set all package details, including pricing, dates, and accommodations.
Step 2: Choose Who Pays Processing Fees
Under Trip Settings, select who covers the processing fees:
Organizer pays fees –When this option is selected, all processing fees are included in the trip cost. Travelers won’t see any extra charges at checkout.
Traveler pays fees – When this option is selected, processing fees are added on top of the trip cost. Travelers will see the fee as a separate charge at checkout.
Step 3: Add Package Basics
Package Name – e.g., “Double Occupancy Room,” “Eco-Lodge Suite,” “Workshop + Accommodation.”
Package Description – describe what’s included (room type, meals, activities).
Trip Package Dates – set start and end dates. (The default dates are automatically set based on your trip’s start and end dates)
Capacity – set unlimited or add a booking limit.
Pricing- You can set the pricing based on Room Types or Set a Lump sum package cost. To set the the pricing based on Room Types you need to switch on the Room Types toggle.
💡Tip - If some travelers are not staying the full trip: create separate packages with adjusted dates for shorter stays. This ensures flexibility for those joining part of the trip.
Step 4: Set Up Room Types
If you have multiple accommodations or occupancy rules:
Toggle Room Types on in the Package page and then click on Save Packages> Save and Continue
Room types tab will appear on the left hand side bar after Packages. You need to go there.
Create Room Categories (e.g., “Guesthouse Double,” “Eco-Lodge Single”).
Add Room Options for occupancy (e.g., 2 guests max, 11 double rooms).
Example: If you have 22 travelers and 11 rooms with double occupancy, setting the occupancy limit ensures you don’t exceed available rooms.

Step 5: Add Pricing
Set the package cost so you see both “Traveler Pays” and “You Receive” (after the 6% processing fee).
Use Room Type pricing if you want to set your package cost based on accommodation.
Note- This applies only if ‘All fees are paid by organizer’ is selected. If the default option ‘All fees are paid by traveler’ is chosen, travelers won’t see the package cost breakdown with fees included, and you’ll receive the full package amount.
Step 6: Add Photos
Upload photos of accommodations, destinations, or experiences to make the package more engaging.
Step 7: Promotion Options
Enable Promo Tag – In SquadTrip, a promo tag (Promotion Label) is a visual cue shown on packages to highlight limited availability and create urgency by displaying messages like ‘Only 5 remaining! Read more about Promo tag here How to Enable the Promo Label on Packages
Mark as Sold Out – Mark as Sold Out indicates that a trip, package, or room category is fully booked, stops new registrations, and enables the waitlist option. Learn more about waitlist option here How Organizers Can Activate Waitlist Option
