Overview
SquadTrip supports three currencies for trip pricing: USD (US Dollar), EUR (Euro), and GBP (British Pound). If you're running international trips or have travelers from Europe or the UK, you can set your trip prices in their local currency.
Setting Your Trip Currency
When creating or editing a trip, you can select the currency for pricing:
Open your trip settings or create a new trip
In the pricing section, select your currency: USD, EUR, or GBP
Set your package prices in the selected currency
All pricing, payment plans, and checkout amounts will display in that currency
Important: The currency is set at the trip level — all packages and pricing within a trip use the same currency.
How Currency Affects Payment Options
Not all payment methods are available in every currency:
Payment Method | USD | EUR | GBP |
Credit/Debit Card | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Apple Pay | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) | Yes | No | No |
Square | Yes | Check availability | Check availability |
Key point: Buy Now Pay Later options (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) are only available for USD trips. If you price your trip in EUR or GBP, BNPL options will not appear at checkout for your travelers.
Things to Know
Stripe handles currency conversion for your connected account. Make sure your Stripe account supports the currency you've selected
Processing fees are calculated in the same currency as the trip
Payouts from Stripe to your bank account follow Stripe's standard currency conversion and payout rules for your region
Travelers see prices in the trip's currency — they don't choose their own currency
Tips for International Trips
Choose the currency that makes the most sense for your target audience. If most travelers are from the US, use USD. If you're running a Europe-based trip marketed to Europeans, consider EUR
Be aware of BNPL limitations — if offering flexible payment options is important for your trip, USD gives travelers the most payment method choices
Check Stripe's currency support for your region before setting up a non-USD trip
Communicate clearly — mention the currency in your trip description so travelers know what to expect
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I change the currency after travelers have booked? A: No — changing the currency after bookings have been made would affect existing payments and pricing. Set your currency before launching the trip.
Q: Can I run one trip in USD and another in EUR? A: Yes! Each trip has its own currency setting. You can have different trips in different currencies.
Q: Will travelers see the price in their local currency? A: Travelers see the price in the trip's currency, not their local currency. Their bank may apply a conversion if the trip currency differs from their card's currency.
