How are fees structured for organizers and travelers?
We charge a flat fee of 6% payment processing fee, which includes Stripe fees associated with Cards and Wallets.
Example: If your trip costs $1,000, the traveler will pay $1,060.00, Stripe will receive $31.04, SquadTrip will receive $28.96, and you will receive $1,000.
SquadTrip covers standard processing fees for U.S.-issued cards and supported digital wallets.
Please note the following exceptions:
International cards incur an additional +1.5% fee
Currency conversion incurs an additional +1% fee
Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) may incur additional fees
Fees related to BNPL options are passed directly to the traveler at checkout. However, fees associated with international cards and currency conversion are the responsibility of the Trip Organizer, not the traveler.
For a full breakdown of these fees, refer to Stripe’s pricing documentation:
At this time, bank-based payment methods and other international payment methods are not supported on SquadTrip.
Are there any other fees?
Nope! We use Stripe to process payments and we pay any fees charged by Stripe. There are no monthly fees or withdrawal fees.
If you receive a dispute, Stripe will charge a dispute fee of $20.00.
Note- There are no fees to transfer funds to your bank account via Stripe.
How do I get paid?
Before publishing your trip site, you'll need to create a Stripe account or log in to an existing one. Stripe allows us to process payments for you, and no additional steps are required to set up Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay. Additionally, you can receive daily payouts directly to your bank account.
Note: Customers outside the United States won’t be able to use Klarna, Affirm, or Afterpay at checkout.
When do I get my first payment?
To ensure proper documentation and verification, Stripe usually takes 7- 14 days to release your first payment, after which you can receive payments anytime you desire.
Will my funds be held when my guests make their payments?
Funds will be deposited to your Stripe.com account. If you set up daily deposits, they will be deposited each day into the bank account of your choice.
Note: If you do not set up daily payouts, the funds will sit in your Stripe.com account until you decide to transfer the money to your bank account.
⚠️ If you cancel a trip and the refund takes longer than expected, always inform your travelers. This helps avoid chargebacks that could lead to Stripe blocking your account.
Can you transfer funds into my bank account before the closing date?
Funds are deposited into your account after each payment. If someone starts a payment plan or makes a payment today, the funds will be in your bank account within 2 days. You will need to sign up with Stripe, our payment partner, to process payments.
Is the total amount displayed under "Trip Data" already inclusive of the deducted fees?
The total shown in Trip Data already includes the deducted fees.
Why is the total refund amount different from what you expected?
Stripe’s non-refundable processing fees and other deductions can cause the total refund issued to travelers to be different from the amount organizers expect to see in their balance. To learn more read the this article here: Refund Deductions from Your Account.
