How to Accept EUR and GBP Payments on SquadTrip

Overview

SquadTrip supports three currencies for trip pricing: USD, EUR (Euro), and GBP (British Pound). Currency is set at the account level, so all trips under your account use the same currency. If you're running international trips or have European/UK travelers, you can price trips in their local currency.

Setting Your Trip Currency

Currency is configured at the company/account level, not per-trip. Self-serve currency selection isn't available in your account settings yet — we set it on the backend for you. Here's how:

  1. Email [email protected] from the email tied to your SquadTrip account

  2. Tell us your subdomain (e.g., yourbrand.squadtrip.com) and the currency you want: USD, EUR, or GBP

  3. We'll update your account, typically within a few hours during business hours

  4. Once it's set, all pricing, payment plans, and checkout amounts will display in that currency

Heads up: we recommend doing this before creating trip pricing or before any traveler books, since changing currency after bookings exist can cause display issues with existing payments.

How Currency Affects Your Account

Aspect

How It Works

Pricing

All packages display in your selected currency

Processing fees

Calculated in the same currency as the trip

Payouts

Stripe transfers to your bank per its currency conversion and payout rules

Traveler view

Travelers see prices in the trip's currency, not their local currency

Important Notes

  • Currency is set at the account level -- all trips share the same currency

  • You cannot change the currency after travelers have booked (it would affect existing payments)

  • Make sure your Stripe account supports the currency you've selected

  • Travelers whose cards are in a different currency may have bank conversion fees applied by their bank

  • BNPL availability depends on both the currency and the provider (see table above)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

Can't find the currency setting in account settings

There isn't a self-serve currency option in account settings yet — currency is set on our backend. Email [email protected] with your subdomain and desired currency (USD, EUR, or GBP) and we'll set it up.

BNPL not appearing for EUR trips

BNPL (including Klarna) is not available for EUR-priced trips on SquadTrip. Only card payments and Apple Pay are available for EUR trips.

Travelers complaining about conversion fees

Inform travelers that their bank may apply conversion fees if their card currency differs from the trip currency. This is outside SquadTrip's control.

Want different currencies for different trips

Currency is per-account, not per-trip. Contact support if you need a separate account for a different currency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I run one trip in USD and another in EUR? A: No. Currency is set at the account level, so all trips under your account use the same currency. If you need trips in different currencies, contact support about setting up separate accounts.

Q: Will travelers see the price in their local currency? A: No. Travelers see the price in the trip's currency (USD, EUR, or GBP). If their card uses a different currency, their bank may apply a conversion fee at the time of charge. This fee is handled by the traveler's bank, not SquadTrip.

Q: Which BNPL provider should I enable for EUR or GBP trips? A: BNPL is not available for EUR-priced trips on SquadTrip. For GBP trips, both Klarna and Afterpay are available. Affirm supports USD only.

Q: Does Stripe handle the currency conversion for payouts? A: Yes. Stripe converts the funds according to its standard exchange rates and deposits to your bank in your local currency. Check Stripe's documentation for current conversion fees and payout schedules for your region.
