How to Sign Your Trip Waiver

Updated yesterday

Overview

Some trips require you to sign a waiver or legal document before your booking is complete. SquadTrip uses a simple type-to-sign process — just type your name and you're done.

Getting to the Waiver

The waiver step appears automatically during the checkout process if the trip organizer has added a waiver requirement:

  1. Go to the trip page and click "Book Now"

  2. Complete the traveler details and payment selection steps

  3. The waiver/signature step appears before final confirmation

How to Sign Your Waiver

During the checkout process:

  1. After filling in your traveler details and selecting your payment option, you'll reach the waiver/signature step

  2. Read the waiver document — it contains important terms and conditions set by your trip organizer

  3. In the signature field, type your full name

  4. A cursive preview of your signature appears below as you type, showing how your signature will look on the document

  5. Confirm and continue with your booking

Your typed signature is legally binding and serves as your electronic consent to the waiver terms.

Important Details

  • Type-to-sign — you type your name rather than drawing a signature. This works consistently across all devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile)

  • Cursive preview — SquadTrip displays your typed name in a cursive font so you can see a visual representation of your signature

  • Required step — if the organizer has added a waiver, you must sign it to complete your booking. You cannot skip this step

  • One waiver per booking — you sign once during checkout

After Signing

  • Your signed waiver is stored securely with your booking

  • The trip organizer can view and download your signed document from their dashboard

  • You can view your signed document in your traveler account under your booking details

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a typed signature legally valid? A: Yes. Electronic signatures, including typed signatures, are legally recognized under the ESIGN Act and similar regulations. Your typed name serves as your legal consent.

Q: Can I change my signature after signing? A: Once submitted during checkout, the signature is final. If you need to re-sign, contact your trip organizer.

Q: What if I don't agree with the waiver terms? A: Review the waiver carefully before signing. If you have concerns about the terms, contact the trip organizer directly before completing your booking. The waiver terms are set by the organizer, not SquadTrip.

Q: Can I see the waiver before I start checkout? A: The waiver is presented during the checkout process. You can also check the trip's FAQ & Legal section on the trip page, where organizers sometimes share waiver details in advance.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

Signature field is not accepting my input

Make sure you are typing in the signature text field, not clicking on the cursive preview. The preview updates automatically as you type. If the field is unresponsive, refresh the page and return to the waiver step.

Waiver step does not appear during checkout

Not all trips require a waiver. If the organizer has not added a waiver requirement, this step is skipped. If you expected a waiver and do not see one, contact your trip organizer.

Cannot proceed past the waiver step

Ensure you have typed your full name in the signature field. The confirmation button may be disabled until a signature is entered. Check that all previous checkout steps (traveler details, payment selection) are completed.

I need to re-sign my waiver after completing checkout

Contact your trip organizer directly. The organizer can view your signed waiver from their dashboard. If a new waiver needs to be signed, the organizer can advise on next steps.
