Updating Your Credit Card Info

How to change your credit card information

Updated yesterday

Overview

SquadTrip lets you update your credit card at any time so future payments -- including auto-billing -- are charged to the correct card. You can change your card from a dedicated button on your Trip Details page or during any payment action. The process works the same whether the trip uses Stripe or Square.

This button is located below the payments table on your Trip Details page.

Process:

  2. Complete the pop-up form with your new card number, expiration date, CVC, and billing details

Important: After changing your card, all future payments (including auto-billing) will be charged to the new credit card.

Option 2: Change Card During a Payment

You can also update your card while making a payment. This option is available during:

  2. Select "Change Card" from the pop-up

  3. Enter your updated card and billing information

  4. Click "Update Card"

  5. Return to the payment screen to proceed with the transaction

The system confirms your card number has been updated before proceeding.

Supported Payment Methods

Depending on how the organizer configured the trip, your card update may go through:

  • Stripe -- Standard card processing

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

"Update Card" button is not appearing

Your organizer may have disabled the "Allow travelers to update payment method" setting. Contact your trip organizer and ask them to enable it from the Payments settings page.

Card update fails with an error

Double-check your card number, expiration date, CVC, and billing ZIP code. If all details are correct, try a different card or contact your bank to ensure the card is not blocked for online transactions.

New card is not being charged on the next payment

After updating, verify the last four digits shown in the payments section match your new card. If they do not, repeat the update process. If the issue persists, contact [email protected].

Pop-up form does not load

Disable any browser pop-up blockers or ad blockers that may prevent the payment form from appearing. Try using Chrome or Safari with extensions disabled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will updating my card affect payments I have already made? A: No. Updating your card only applies to future charges. All previously completed payments remain on the original card and are not affected or reversed.

Q: Can I use a debit card instead of a credit card? A: Yes. SquadTrip accepts both credit and debit cards through Stripe and Square. Enter your debit card details the same way you would enter a credit card.

Q: Do I need to update my card separately for each trip I am booked on? A: Yes. Each trip booking stores its own card on file. If you are booked on multiple trips, you need to update your card for each trip individually from that trip's details page.

Q: What happens if my card expires before my next scheduled payment? A: If auto-billing is enabled, the charge will fail when your card expires. You will receive an email notification about the failed payment. Log in to your dashboard and update your card before the next retry attempt to avoid missed payments.
