Need to rearrange your trip itinerary? SquadTrip's drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to reorder activities, excursions, and events within your itinerary — no need to delete and recreate items.

Getting to the Itinerary Editor

  1. Log in to your organizer dashboard

  2. Click "Edit" on the trip you want to update

  3. Select "Itinerary" from the left sidebar under Optional Enhancements

  4. Your itinerary items will be displayed with drag handles on the left side

How to Reorder Itinerary Items

  1. Log in to your organizer dashboard

  2. Open the trip you want to edit

  3. Navigate to the Itinerary section

  4. Click and hold on the itinerary item you want to move (look for the drag handle)

  5. Drag the item up or down to its new position

  6. Release to drop it in place

  7. The new order is saved automatically

Tips

  • Plan your itinerary flow — arrange items in chronological order so travelers can follow along day by day

  • Group by day — keep morning activities before afternoon ones, dinner before nightlife

  • Reorganize after adding new items — if you add activities out of order, just drag them to the right spot

  • Review after reordering — scroll through the full itinerary to make sure the new order makes sense

  • Drag and drop works for all itinerary item types

  • The reordered itinerary is what travelers see on their trip page

  • If you also download the itinerary as PDF, it reflects the current order

  • Changes are saved as you drag -- no need to click a separate "Save" button

Troubleshooting

Problem

Drag handle not appearing on itinerary items

Make sure you are in the Itinerary editor (click "Edit" on your trip, then select "Itinerary" from the sidebar). Drag handles only appear in edit mode, not on the public trip page.

Item snaps back to its original position

This usually indicates a temporary save issue. Refresh the page and try dragging again. Check your internet connection, as the reorder saves automatically and requires an active connection.

Drag and drop not working on mobile

Drag and drop is optimized for desktop browsers. On mobile, tap and hold the drag handle, then slide the item to its new position. If it still does not respond, try using a desktop browser.

Reordered items look wrong on the trip page

Clear your browser cache and refresh the public trip page. The updated order should appear immediately. If travelers report the old order, ask them to refresh their page as well.

Q: Does reordering itinerary items affect what travelers see immediately? A: Yes. Changes are saved automatically as you drag items, and the public trip page updates right away. Travelers visiting your trip page will see the new order on their next page load or refresh.

Q: Can I reorder items across different days in the itinerary? A: Drag and drop allows you to move items within the itinerary list. You can rearrange the order of all items freely. If your itinerary is organized by day, drag items to the correct position relative to the day headers.

Q: Is there an undo option if I accidentally move an item to the wrong spot? A: There is no dedicated undo button, but you can simply drag the item back to its original position. Changes save instantly, so just drag it again to correct the order.

Q: Does the itinerary PDF reflect the new order after I reorder items? A: Yes. When you download the itinerary PDF, it reflects the current order of items. If you reorder items and then download the PDF, the new sequence will be shown in the document.
