Apple Pay at Different Checkout Steps
Apple Pay works for:
Initial trip booking — pay your deposit or full amount at checkout
Subsequent payments — make installment payments from your traveler dashboard
Multiple currencies — Apple Pay supports USD, EUR, and GBP trips
Why Use Apple Pay?
Fast — No typing card numbers; authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID
Secure — Your actual card number is never shared with SquadTrip; Apple uses a unique device token
Convenient — Use any card already in your Apple Wallet
When Apple Pay Won't Appear
You won't see the Apple Pay button if:
You're not on an Apple device or not using Safari
You don't have Apple Pay set up with a card in your wallet
The trip organizer hasn't enabled Apple Pay for the trip
Troubleshooting
Don't see the Apple Pay button? Make sure you're using Safari on an Apple device with Apple Pay configured
Payment failed? Check that your card in Apple Wallet is valid and has sufficient funds. You can also try a different card in your wallet
Prefer to use a card directly? You can always enter your credit or debit card details manually instead of using Apple Pay
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Apple Pay for installment payments, or only the initial booking? A: Apple Pay works for both your initial trip booking and subsequent installment payments. When you make an installment payment from your traveler dashboard, the Apple Pay button appears just like it does during the original checkout process.
Q: Does Apple Pay cost extra compared to paying with a regular credit card? A: No. Apple Pay uses the same card already in your wallet, so the processing fees are identical. SquadTrip does not charge any additional fee for using Apple Pay. You pay the same 6% processing fee as any other card payment.
Q: Can I use Apple Pay on a Windows computer or Android phone? A: No. Apple Pay is only available on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) using the Safari browser. On other devices or browsers, you can pay by entering your credit or debit card details manually at checkout.
Q: What currencies does Apple Pay support on SquadTrip? A: Apple Pay supports all currencies available on SquadTrip, including USD, EUR, and GBP. The charge is processed in the trip's listed currency, and your bank handles any currency conversion if your card uses a different currency.
Q: Is Apple Pay secure for online payments on SquadTrip? A: Yes. Apple Pay uses a device-specific token instead of your actual card number, so your real card details are never shared with SquadTrip or stored on our servers. Each transaction is authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
